Most weeks, the tight end you stream decides more than the one you own. Here are the Week 8 options outside the top 10 by value, ranked by projection. Values and projections as of Oct 30, 2026.
Two tight ends are out of reach for a stream: Trey McBride (19.3) and Brock Bowers (17.2) own the top two projections, and no one else is above 12. The pool here is every tight end ranked 11th or lower by dynasty value, inside our top 200, with a Week 8 PPR projection. That is 16 players, and the ten best are below. Projections come from Sleeper. We list who the numbers like, not who is on your waiver wire, so check your own league.
Three more tight ends in range have no Week 8 projection: Juwan Johnson, Terrance Ferguson, Dalton Schultz. Terrance Ferguson is on IR. George Kittle and Isaiah Likely, both top-10 by value, also have no Week 8 projection, so they are not in play either way.
The ten, ranked by Week 8 projection
| Player | Age | Value (1QB) | Week 8 proj | PPG | Last 3 | Adds, 72h | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Travis Kelce (KC) | 37 | 1,518 | 11.4 | 11.7 | 7.1 | — | Questionable |
| T.J. Hockenson (MIN) | 29 | 1,245 | 11.2 | 10.5 | 13.4 | 156,411 | — |
| Brenton Strange (JAX) | 25 | 1,195 | 10.9 | 10 | 13.2 | 1,075,761 | — |
| Dallas Goedert (PHI) | 31 | 501 | 10.2 | 11.4 | 10.6 | — | — |
| Jake Ferguson (DAL) | 27 | 455 | 9.8 | 6.4 | 2.7 | 142,490 | — |
| Hunter Henry (NE) | 31 | 276 | 9.6 | 9.7 | 14.1 | 318,978 | — |
| Pat Freiermuth (PIT) | 28 | 287 | 9.4 | 9.6 | 9.5 | — | — |
| Mark Andrews (BAL) | 31 | 318 | 9 | 7.2 | 3.8 | 119,052 | — |
| AJ Barner (SEA) | 24 | 240 | 8.4 | 6.2 | 6.1 | 159,048 | — |
| Kyle Pitts Sr. (ATL) | 26 | 1,153 | 8.1 | 9 | 17.1 | 208,271 | — |
Travis Kelce tops the pool at 11.4, but he is 37, the oldest of the ten, and listed Questionable. He scores 11.7 per game and 7.1 over his last three, so the projection sits just under the season line and well above the recent one. Only play him if the status clears.
T.J. Hockenson is the best healthy name at 11.2. Kelce and Hockenson both project above every top-10 tight end except McBride and Bowers. Hockenson scores 10.5 per game and 13.4 over his last three, so the model and the box scores agree. Brenton Strange is next at 10.9 with 13.2 over his last three and a clean tag.
Dallas Goedert projects 10.2 against 11.4 per game this season and 10.6 recently. He is healthy, but Sleeper has only two projected weeks for him. Jake Ferguson projects 9.8, yet he scores 6.4 per game and just 2.7 over his last three. That is a bet on the model over the box scores.
Who is trending, and who is not
Seven of the ten show Sleeper add activity. Brenton Strange leads with 1,075,761 adds in 72 hours and 190,062 in 24, the most of the ten on both counts. Hunter Henry is next at 318,978 over 72 hours. Kelce, Goedert and Pat Freiermuth show none.
Adds are a crowd signal. They tell you where other managers are looking, not that the player will score. Strange pairs the crowd with the numbers: 10.9 projected, 13.2 over his last three, no injury tag, and a value of 1,195, third highest of the ten behind Kelce and Hockenson.
Projection against the recent trend
| Player | Week 8 proj | vs season PPG | vs last 3 | Weeks 8-10 (sum) | Week 9 proj |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Travis Kelce | 11.4 | 11.7 (-0.3) | 7.1 (+4.3) | 37 over 3 wks | 12.7 |
| T.J. Hockenson | 11.2 | 10.5 (+0.7) | 13.4 (-2.2) | 32.3 over 3 wks | 10.4 |
| Brenton Strange | 10.9 | 10 (+0.9) | 13.2 (-2.3) | 32.9 over 3 wks | 10.5 |
| Dallas Goedert | 10.2 | 11.4 (-1.2) | 10.6 (-0.4) | 19.8 over 2 wks | 9.6 |
| Jake Ferguson | 9.8 | 6.4 (+3.4) | 2.7 (+7.1) | 26.9 over 3 wks | 8.8 |
| Hunter Henry | 9.6 | 9.7 (-0.1) | 14.1 (-4.5) | 28.3 over 3 wks | 9 |
| Pat Freiermuth | 9.4 | 9.6 (-0.2) | 9.5 (-0.1) | 19.3 over 2 wks | none |
| Mark Andrews | 9 | 7.2 (+1.8) | 3.8 (+5.2) | 27.9 over 3 wks | 9.3 |
| AJ Barner | 8.4 | 6.2 (+2.2) | 6.1 (+2.3) | 25.4 over 3 wks | 8.6 |
| Kyle Pitts Sr. | 8.1 | 9 (-0.9) | 17.1 (-9.0) | 24.1 over 3 wks | 8.6 |
The change columns show the projection minus each average, so a plus means the model expects more than the player has averaged. Jake Ferguson has the biggest plus against both his season pace (+3.4) and his last three (+7.1). AJ Barner has the next biggest plus over season pace (+2.2). Kyle Pitts Sr. has the biggest minus against his last three (-9.0): he scores 17.1 per game over that stretch, the best of the ten, yet is projected just 8.1. His value of 1,153 is fourth highest of the ten, so he is a hold more than a streamer.
The longest look ahead belongs to Travis Kelce: 37 points over three weeks, the highest sum among the ten. Goedert and Freiermuth have projections for only two of the three weeks, and Sleeper has no Week 9 number for Freiermuth. If you stream for more than one week, those two are the weakest fit.
How to use this
- Check the status of Travis Kelce before kickoff. He is the only one of the ten with a tag.
- If two options tie, take the one with the better last-3 average and the clean health tag.
- Compare any two in the start/sit tool before you drop a tight end.
- Do not drop a dynasty piece for a one-week stream. Use the waiver wire for the add, not the cut.
- The full projection board is on the Week 8 start/sit page.
