You need a tight end who scores, not one who looks good on a rankings page. Here are the Week 9 options outside the top 10 by dynasty value, ordered by PPR projection. Values and projections as of Nov 5, 2026.
Skip the top of the board. Brock Bowers (18.9), Trey McBride (15.4) and George Kittle (15.3) project above every tight end below, and all three rank in the top 10 by value. Every tight end in that top 10 has a projection this week, so nobody is hiding. The pool here is the 20 tight ends ranked 11th or lower by value, inside our top 200. 19 of them have a Week 9 projection, and the ten highest are below. Projections come from Sleeper. Check your own waiver wire for who is free.
One in-range tight end has no Week 9 projection: Pat Freiermuth. Treat that as missing data, not a zero.
The ten, ranked by Week 9 projection
| Player | Age | Value (1QB) | Week 9 proj | PPG | Last 3 | Adds, 72h | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Travis Kelce (KC) | 37 | 1,260 | 13.2 | 11.7 | 9.8 | — | Questionable |
| T.J. Hockenson (MIN) | 29 | 693 | 10.8 | 11.2 | 10.3 | — | — |
| Juwan Johnson (NO) | 30 | 520 | 10.2 | 9.6 | 2.4 | 62,644 | — |
| Mike Gesicki (CIN) | 31 | 452 | 10.2 | 11 | 10.9 | 721,560 | — |
| Dallas Goedert (PHI) | 31 | 485 | 9.9 | 10.7 | 9.7 | — | — |
| Brenton Strange (JAX) | 25 | 643 | 9.8 | 9.6 | 10.2 | 66,312 | — |
| Kyle Pitts Sr. (ATL) | 26 | 1,213 | 9.5 | 8.2 | 12.9 | — | — |
| Dalton Schultz (HOU) | 30 | 290 | 8.6 | 9.3 | 7.6 | — | — |
| Jake Ferguson (DAL) | 27 | 431 | 8.3 | 5.6 | 2.7 | — | Questionable |
| Chig Okonkwo (WAS) | 27 | 306 | 8.3 | 6.6 | 9 | — | — |
Travis Kelce tops the pool at 13.2. Kelce is also 37, the oldest of the ten, and listed Questionable. The projection beats the 11.7 season average and the 9.8 over the last three games. That is the case to start Kelce if the tag clears, and the case against trusting it before it does.
T.J. Hockenson is the top healthy projection at 10.8. Hockenson averages 11.2 on the season and 10.3 recently, so the number is close to the recent results. Juwan Johnson and Mike Gesicki tie at 10.2. Gesicki scores 11 per game and 10.9 over the last three games, a steadier base than Johnson, who averages 9.6 but only 2.4 lately.
Dallas Goedert projects 9.9 with 10.7 per game behind it, and Brenton Strange sits at 9.8, close to both the season and recent averages. Only four of the ten reach 10: Travis Kelce, T.J. Hockenson, Juwan Johnson and Mike Gesicki. Jake Ferguson is also listed Questionable, so the 8.3 projection comes with the same caveat as Kelce.
Who is trending, and who is not
Three of the ten show Sleeper adds over 72 hours. Mike Gesicki leads with 721,560 adds in 72 hours and 211,104 in 24, the most of the ten on both counts. Brenton Strange is next at 66,312 over 72 hours, then Juwan Johnson at 62,644. Kyle Pitts Sr. shows 21,567 adds in 24 hours but no 72-hour figure.
Adds are a crowd signal. They tell you where other managers are looking, not who scores. Gesicki pairs the crowd with healthy numbers: 10.2 projected, 10.9 over the last three games and no tag. The value is 452, so Gesicki is a stream, not a long-term hold.
Projection against the recent trend
| Player | Week 9 proj | vs season PPG | vs last 3 | Weeks 9-11 (sum) | Week 10 proj |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Travis Kelce | 13.2 | 11.7 (+1.5) | 9.8 (+3.4) | 40.2 over 3 wks | 12.8 |
| T.J. Hockenson | 10.8 | 11.2 (-0.4) | 10.3 (+0.5) | 31.5 over 3 wks | 10.7 |
| Juwan Johnson | 10.2 | 9.6 (+0.6) | 2.4 (+7.8) | 31.8 over 3 wks | 10.3 |
| Mike Gesicki | 10.2 | 11 (-0.8) | 10.9 (-0.7) | 27 over 3 wks | 8.1 |
| Dallas Goedert | 9.9 | 10.7 (-0.8) | 9.7 (+0.2) | 20.5 over 2 wks | none |
| Brenton Strange | 9.8 | 9.6 (+0.2) | 10.2 (-0.4) | 32.3 over 3 wks | 11.5 |
| Kyle Pitts Sr. | 9.5 | 8.2 (+1.3) | 12.9 (-3.4) | 16.9 over 2 wks | 7.4 |
| Dalton Schultz | 8.6 | 9.3 (-0.7) | 7.6 (+1.0) | 25.4 over 3 wks | 8.2 |
| Jake Ferguson | 8.3 | 5.6 (+2.7) | 2.7 (+5.6) | 25.8 over 3 wks | 8.3 |
| Chig Okonkwo | 8.3 | 6.6 (+1.7) | 9 (-0.7) | 23.9 over 3 wks | 7.6 |
The brackets show the projection minus each average. A plus means Sleeper expects more than the player has produced. Juwan Johnson has the widest plus against the last-3 average (+7.8), because the last three games averaged just 2.4. Jake Ferguson has the widest plus against the season pace (+2.7). Kyle Pitts Sr. is the mirror image: -3.4 against the last-3 average, the widest minus of the ten. The last three games averaged 12.9, the best of the ten, yet the projection is 9.5. The value of 1,213 is second only to Kelce, so Pitts is a hold before a stream.
Travis Kelce has the longest runway: 40.2 points over three weeks, the highest sum of the ten. Dallas Goedert and Kyle Pitts Sr. have projections for only two of the three weeks, and Goedert has no Week 10 number. If you stream beyond this week, those two fit worst.
How to use this
- Check Kelce and Jake Ferguson on the injury report before kickoff. They are the two of the ten with a tag.
- If two options tie, take the better last-3 average and the clean health tag.
- Compare any two in the start/sit tool before you drop a tight end.
- Never cut a dynasty piece for a one-week stream. Use the waiver wire for the add, not the cut.
- The full projection board lives on the Week 9 start/sit page.
