Everybody adds the same names every Tuesday. Most of them do nothing for you on Sunday. So here is the cut: take the 25 most-added players on Sleeper in the last 24 hours and check each one against his Week 7 projection, his projection for the next three weeks, his season PPG and his last three games. Scoring is PPR. Values as of Oct 20, 2026.
The rule is simple. Projection-backed means healthy with a Week 7 projection of 9 points or more. Hype means healthy with a projection under 6, or no projection at all. Everything in between is depth. IR players are stashes and nothing else.
The adds the projections back
| Player | Pos / team | Adds 24h | Week 7 proj | Next 3 wks | Season PPG | Last 3 PPG | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kyler Murray | QB / MIN | 99K | 17.8 | 53.4 (3 wk) | 10.4 | 13.4 | Active |
| C.J. Stroud | QB / HOU | 261K | 17.3 | 33.8 (2 wk) | 18.9 | 22.3 | Active |
| Tyler Shough | QB / NO | 57K | 15.9 | 31.8 (2 wk) | 19.5 | 14.2 | Active |
| Kirk Cousins | QB / LV | 68K | 15.8 | 49.8 (3 wk) | 19.3 | 18.3 | Active |
| Tanner McKee | QB / PHI | 85K | 13.9 | 42.3 (3 wk) | 12.6 | 12.6 | Active |
| Omar Cooper | WR / NYJ | 1.26M | 10 | 28.7 (3 wk) | 13.2 | 13.2 | Active |
| Tre Tucker | WR / LV | 177K | 9.1 | 28.2 (3 wk) | 13.1 | 14.2 | Active |
"Next 3 wks" is the sum of the projections we have, and the number in parentheses is how many weeks that covers. Where it says 2 wk, the third week has no projection, so the sum is short.
Quarterbacks. 5 of the 6 quarterbacks on the list are backed. That is a lot of quarterback traffic. Kyler Murray is the clearest case. He is projected for 17.8 this week against a 10.4 season average over 4 games, the widest gap between projection and season PPG on this list. His next-three sum, 53.4, is the biggest of the seven. C.J. Stroud has the best last-three number of the group at 22.3. Tyler Shough and Kirk Cousins are projected at 15.9 and 15.8. Tanner McKee is 13.9 on a single game of data, so treat him as the thinnest of the five. In a one-quarterback league you need one of these, not five.
Wide receivers. Omar Cooper is the most-added player on the list by a mile: 1.26M adds in 24 hours, more than three times the next name. The projection is 10 and he has played 2 games, so the sample is tiny. The add is justified, the panic is not. His Week 7 start/sit page has the tiers. Tre Tucker is the quieter play at 9.1 projected and 14.2 over his last three.
The hype: big adds, tiny projections
| Player | Pos / team | Adds 24h | Week 7 proj | Next 3 wks | Season PPG | Last 3 PPG | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Konata Mumpfield | WR / LAR | 224K | 5.1 | 14.6 (3 wk) | 4.5 | 8.2 | Active |
| Roschon Johnson | RB / CHI | 159K | 0.3 | 0.9 (3 wk) | 4.5 | 8.9 | Active |
| Keon Coleman | WR / BUF | 136K | — | 14.3 (2 wk) | 10.9 | 15.7 | Active |
| J.J. McCarthy | QB / NYG | 97K | 0.3 | 0.6 (2 wk) | 8.8 | 8.3 | Active |
| Austin Ekeler | RB / WAS | 87K | — | 10.3 (2 wk) | 3.7 | 3.4 | Active |
| Jaleel McLaughlin | RB / CLE | 84K | 1.6 | 5.4 (3 wk) | 3.7 | 6.1 | Active |
| Pierre Strong | RB / GB | 70K | 0.8 | 2.3 (3 wk) | 8.3 | 8.3 | Active |
| Keenan Allen | WR / IND | 53K | 2.2 | 18.3 (3 wk) | 10.9 | 14.7 | Active |
| Rachaad White | RB / WAS | 49K | — | 19.6 (2 wk) | 8.3 | 9.9 | Active |
Those 9 players pulled 960K adds in 24 hours. The 7 backed players pulled 2.01M, and 1.26M of that is Omar Cooper. Take him out and the hype pile is bigger.
Two names say it loudest. Roschon Johnson has 159K adds and a 0.3 projection. J.J. McCarthy is also at 0.3. Those are the two lowest projections in the whole group of 25, and neither is close to a start. Pierre Strong scored 8.3 per game over 2 games, but he is projected for 0.8. Last-three scoring is the bait here. The projection is the check.
Missing projections. Keon Coleman, Austin Ekeler and Rachaad White have no Week 7 projection in our data. We won't guess. Keon Coleman has a 15.7 last-three average, which is the only reason he is on the radar.
One split decision. Keenan Allen is projected for 2.2 this week but 18.3 over the next three, with 14.7 PPG over his last three. The numbers disagree with each other, so he is a bench add at best.
The middle: depth, not a plan
7 more are projected between 6 and 9 points. Kyle Pitts has the biggest jump in scoring of the group, 15.3 PPG over his last three against 8.3 for the season. The Week 7 projection is 7.7. That is a tight end streaming option, not a hold-forever add. Tyler Higbee (8.6) had more adds over 72 hours than any other player in this group, 1.36M. Tyrone Tracy, Blake Corum, Ryan Flournoy, Michael Mayer and Dameon Pierce sit at 6.3 to 7.8. Add one if you have a hole and nobody better.
IR stashes, and only that
Tank Dell and Terrance Ferguson are both listed IR. They are on the list because people are adding them, not because they help in Week 7. Our data doesn't say when either one returns. Stash only if the bench spot costs you nothing.
How to use this
- Open with the backed list. If one fits your roster hole, bid on him.
- Match the add to your need. A second quarterback does nothing in a one-quarterback league.
- Skip anyone whose projection is under 6. A hot last-three average with a low projection is the pattern to avoid.
- Check status on Sunday. These numbers are from Tuesday. A status change on Sunday beats them.
- Rank the rest. The full Week 7 waiver wire and the trending adds page update daily. The waiver wire tool sorts it against your own roster.
Frequently asked questions
Who are the best Week 7 waiver wire pickups?
By projection among the most-added players: Kyler Murray (17.8), C.J. Stroud (17.3), Tyler Shough (15.9), Kirk Cousins (15.8). All are healthy as of Oct 20, 2026.
Which Week 7 waiver adds should I skip?
Skip the hype adds: Roschon Johnson (159K adds, 0.3 projected), J.J. McCarthy (0.3), Pierre Strong (0.8) and anyone else who pairs heavy adds with a projection under 6.
Is Omar Cooper worth adding in Week 7?
The numbers say yes. He is projected for 10 this week and 28.7 over the next three, with 1.26M adds in 24 hours. The caveat is 2 games played.
Should I stash an IR player on the waiver wire?
Only if the spot is free. Tank Dell and Terrance Ferguson are both on IR. Tank Dell is projected for 2.5 this week; Terrance Ferguson has no projection at all.
