One week changed the rookie board. Omar Cooper Jr. jumped from 10th to 4th. Denzel Boston lost more than a tenth of his value. Carnell Tate and Jeremiyah Love held the top two spots. This is the Week 8 update to our Oct 20 rookie article: same class, new numbers. Values are on a 0 to 10,000 scale as of Oct 27, 2026, and changes compare to Oct 20. 87 first-year players carry a value. Of the 84 that had a value on Oct 20, 19 gained, 49 lost and 16 did not move. The full class lives on the dynasty rookie rankings.

The order at the top held. Carnell Tate is still first at 4,296, down 58 on the week, with 11 PPR points per game over 7 games. Jeremiyah Love is second at 4,256 (+109), but his sources do not agree: the experts have him at 7,736, the Sleeper draft market at 830. He is listed Out and has played 5 games. That is a buy flag, not a guarantee. Jordyn Tyson dropped to 2,952 (-306) with 0 games played and an IR tag, so his number rests on the expert consensus alone.

The big move is fourth place. Omar Cooper Jr. is now ahead of Denzel Boston. He was 10th a week ago.

The risers

Omar Cooper Jr. (NYJ). Up 1,266 to 2,350, the biggest gain in the class. He has played 3 games and averages 16.3 PPR points per game. Three games is a tiny sample. The sources are split: experts at 897, draft market at 1,493, production at 7,939. The market is 66% above the experts, which earns him a sell flag.

Caleb Douglas (MIA). Up 711 (+261.4%) to 983. Also three games, 13.1 PPG. The experts sit at 180, the market at 480. Production is the loud signal here, at 4,131. Treat the jump as a small-sample spike until the games pile up.

Jonah Coleman (DEN). Up 82 (+14.4%) to 652 with 7.9 PPG over 3 games and a Week 8 projection of 10.1. His projection is above his average, which is not true of every riser here.

The fallers

Jordyn Tyson (NO). Down 306 (-9.4%) to 2,952, the second-biggest drop by points. Same story as above: no games, an IR tag and one source.

Denzel Boston (CLE). Down 273 (-11.5%) to 2,107. He has played all 7 games at 11 PPG, but his last three are lower at 7.3. His sources are close together (experts 2,055, market 2,055), so every source prices him in the same place. Teammate KC Concepcion Jr. barely moved (-11, now 1,539) and has the better last three, 10.9 PPG against 9 on the year.

Germie Bernard (PIT). The biggest drop in the class, by points and by percentage among rookies worth 1,000 or more: -315 (-23.6%) to 1,017. His last three games average 15.3 PPG, better than his 8.4 for the season, so the production did not fall. The experts have him at 188 against a market of 1,695. He still carries a sell flag, at a lower price.

Kenyon Sadiq (NYJ). Down 170 (-15.5%) to 930. A tight end with 6.1 PPG and just 1.4 over his last three games, against an expert value of 1,629.

The two biggest risers have three games each. The fallers Denzel Boston, Germie Bernard and Kenyon Sadiq have played all seven, so their samples are the bigger ones.

What the rookie picks cost

Picks sit on the same scale as players. This is what each buys as of Oct 27, 2026.

Pick1QBSuperflexClosest 2026 rookie (1QB)
2027 Early 1st4,1824,913Jeremiyah Love (4,256)

2027 Late 1st8581,014De'Zhaun Stribling (842)
2027 Early 2nd417500Chris Bell (394)

A 2027 Early 1st at 4,182 is close to Jeremiyah Love (4,256) and just under Carnell Tate (4,296). A 2027 Mid 1st (1,864) is worth less than Denzel Boston (2,107), and even a 2027 Late 1st (858) is below Germie Bernard (1,017). The jump from a mid first to an early first is more than double. Quarterbacks flip by format: Fernando Mendoza is 799 in 1QB leagues and 3,250 in superflex.

Three ways to use this before your deadline

  1. Sell the spike. A rookie who gained 1,000 points on three games, like Omar Cooper Jr., is priced for his best week. If a manager pays it, take it.
  2. Buy the discount. Run Jeremiyah Love and Makai Lemon through the trade analyzer. Both have expert values far above the draft market. Both carry real risk: Love is listed Out and Lemon has scored 7.1 PPG.
  3. Price picks against players. If a 2027 mid first buys less than a Denzel Boston, decide whether you want a known player or a draft slot.
